Sonata Op.82b – Bassoon w/piano
by Robert C. Ehle
Moved by his travels to foreign lands, Dr. Ehle’s Sonata Op.82b is in three separate movements, each named after a different ancient city from the land of Turkey: Zonguldak, Usküdar, and Izmir in that order. The melodies and harmonic language is not of folk music but of the inspiration the muse brought to Dr. Ehle upon composing this work. This piece works equally well for bassoon or trombone.
