alto and tenor trombone solos

Alto trombone solos

Andantino Maestoso – w/piano
by Kevin James
The Andantino Maestoso is a lovely contribution to the solo literature for the alto trombone. James has wonderfully scored the piano so that its opulent harmonies and timbres will complement the feathery singing sound of the alto trombone. “…James highlights the lyrical, melodic qualities of the alto trombone. The flowing lines of the solo are supported by rich harmonies in the piano accompaniment. The style, though contemporary, is thoroughly accessible.” Will Kimball, University of Northern Iowa, ITA Journal, October 2003
